The two numbers that decide it
TherapyNotes’ price has two moving parts once you pass one clinician: $50 a month for each added clinician, and 14 cents for every electronic claim (the same rate applies to remittance records and eligibility requests). Schedulers, billers and other non-clinical staff are free, so headcount on the admin side does not matter.
That makes the comparison narrow and checkable. If your practice files its own claims through TherapyNotes and is happy doing so, the claim fee buys something we do not offer, and you should stay. If a biller already files claims from their own system, you are paying $50 a head for clinicians whose billing happens elsewhere.
Four group sizes, monthly
TherapyNotes Solo is $69; Group is $79 for the first clinician plus $50 for each added one. Ours is $20 per active clinical seat with a $99 monthly minimum. Neither column includes TherapyNotes’ per-claim fees or add-ons.

- 1 TherapyNotes charges 14¢ per electronic claim. MegAligna exports superbill and CMS-1500 data for your biller to submit, which is a different billing model rather than an equivalent one.
- 2 TherapyNotes includes basic telehealth on every plan, with a premium tier at $15 a clinician. Here, sessions are scheduled and billed as telehealth, but the practice brings its own HIPAA-covered video service.
- 3 Not a difference: TherapyNotes lists free non-clinical staff on its Group plan.
- 4 TherapyNotes advertises customizable note templates but does not name these formats on its notes page. Here you build the note layout from your own fields, the signing, co-signing and addendum lifecycle is shipped, but the named formats are not preset for you yet.
- 5 TherapyNotes offers reports showing which prior authorizations need renewing; counting units against an authorization at the moment of booking is not described.
