ABA data collection software for RBTs in the field

ABA data collection software records behavior data during a session: trial-by-trial DTT with prompt levels, task analysis, frequency, duration, rate, latency, interval recording and ABC events, graphed automatically with phase-change lines. MegAligna captures on a phone one-handed and queues every tap locally, so a lost connection never costs a session.

What RBTs and BCBAs ask

Which measurement types are supported?
Trial-by-trial discrete trial training with prompt hierarchies, task analysis with forward and backward chaining, frequency, rate, duration, latency, partial and whole interval recording, momentary time sampling with configurable intervals, and structured ABC event recording.
What happens when there is no signal?
Every tap is written to a local queue on the device with its own identifier and synced when the connection returns, so data entry is never blocked by connectivity. There are two limits: the day's roster and targets must have loaded while online, and signing a note requires a connection.
Do graphs draw phase lines automatically?
Yes. A phase change, baseline to intervention to maintenance, draws a line on the graph with its condition label. Mastery criteria are set by your clinic, not by us, and can auto-flag mastery and move a target to its next phase.
Can data be collected on a personal phone?
It runs in the browser on any modern phone or tablet, with no app-store install. Whether staff use personal devices is your policy decision and belongs in your own risk analysis.

Built for one-handed capture during a session

An RBT collecting data has one hand on a phone and one hand in the session. The capture surface is built for that: the three primary responses are the three largest targets on screen, one target fills one screen, every tap gives an instant visual confirmation, and an undo control stays visible because mis-taps are constant.

That confirmation is rendered on the device rather than waiting on a server response. A session does not pause for a loading spinner, so capture never blocks on the network.

What this ABA data collection software captures

  • Included

    Discrete trial training

Per-trial correct, prompted or incorrect, with a configurable prompt hierarchy and target rotation.

  • Included

    Task analysis

Chained skills with a prompt level per step, forward or backward chaining.

  • Included

    Frequency, rate, duration, latency

Counters and timers for behaviors measured by how often, how long or how soon.

  • Included

    Interval recording

Partial interval, whole interval and momentary time sampling, with a configurable interval length and vibration cues.

  • Included

    ABC recording

Structured antecedent, behavior and consequence events rather than free text.

  • Included

    Graphs with phase lines

Automatic line graphs with phase-change lines, condition labels and editable axes, in the app and in exported reports.

Mastery criteria are set by your clinic

Criteria are configurable, and no vendor defaults are presented as clinical guidance. When criteria are met, the target is flagged and, where the clinic has enabled it, advanced to its next phase with the phase line drawn. Maintenance and generalization probes can be scheduled after mastery, and a regression reopens the target.

How session data becomes a note and a charge

The end-of-session note opens pre-filled from what was captured — session times, targets run and totals — so the RBT edits rather than authors it, and the note cannot disagree with the data behind it.

The same chain continues into billing. A signed session generates its charge line, with units derived from the recorded times and the authorization the session was delivered under, and finished charges export per session for whoever bills for the agency. Because the data, the note and the charge are views of one record, an audit starting from any of the three arrives at the same session.

The data captured here is what ABA practice management software runs on, and it is the same record that produces the session note and the charge. RBT supervision tracking draws on the same session history.
